Benimarfull, old morisco village, has its historic center built in the way its old villagers did, with steep and narrow streets. We can point out as place of special tourist interest the Church, built in the16th century, white and earthy, with a three-storey slender bell tower . |

It´s a very mountanious area , whose main heights are the Alt de Agulló and el Tossal. It is crossed by the Benimarfull, Sofre y Albacar gullies (barrancos),that flow into the Serpis river. There are several springs, one of them with calcic-sulphurous waters. |

Its 408 inhabitant, mainly farmers, work on dry fields and use the Serpis river to irrigate some of them. The main farming consists of olive, grape and fruits: peaches, cherries and apples. |

The village also has a toy-plastic factory, two small textile factories and a farming cooperative. Due to the sulphurous waters there was a spa that attracted many people in in the 1930s. Nowadays that spa, that had even 70 rooms and a garden with dancing court, has been restored as the tourist country resort Els Banys. Benimarfull holds the village’s fiesta in honor of St. James, St. Ana and the Holy Christ of the Good Death in third and fourth weeks of July with the procession of the Christ, the parade of Moors and Christians, encierros (running of young bulls through the streets) and open air dance. Raspall , a valencian old ball game, is still played in the street. Visitors shouldn´t miss a typical sweet, bizcochos de cuchara, or the handmade liquors as herbero , made with aromatic plants,or café-licor. |
