LORCHA In El Comtat county on the border between la Marina Alta and la Safor counties we find very interesting tourist place: la Vall de Perpuxent (Perpuxent valley).

Lorcha, located on the right side of Serpis river, in the very center of the valley, borders on la Albureca mountain to the South,on la Solana mountain to the North and on la Safor mountain to the East. Most of its farming lands is dry because of its mountanious geography, but la Safor mountain provides them witha large quantity of water coming from raining, larger even to the average in the Valencia region.

The farming consists basically on cherry, olive, almond and fruit trees and vegetable gardens. |

Small family industries of paper and textile offer jobs to the majority of its 750 inhabitants. Walking around, the visitor will discover the peace and relax of the streets, enjoy its traditions and gastronomy, as well as the kindness of the villagers, the incomparable landscape around the Perpuxent castle and a promenade by the old railway “Xixarra” along the Serpis river.

The village fiestas are held from July 21th to 25th in honor of St. Maria Magdalena. At this time the visitor may find music, traditions and religious customs. |
